Flicker Thoughts

So one reason why I wanted to start and do a blog is because there is so much more to me than beauty and makeup... and sometimes it's hard to show that on a little square of Instagram and Facebook.

For those of you that don't know, I belong to the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints.

Yesterday I sat down and listened to this song on repeat a few times.

Tears built up in my eyes.

 I really hope that I can teach my kids when they have their doubts that they will have faith to do exactly what this song says.

If you haven't listened to it... you should!!

Back in October 2016 I had just suffered from my third miscarriage and I  didn't have any idea what the future held for me.

My faith was shattered and I really doubted everything I had believed in my whole life.

I had so many unanswered questions, and the love that people spoke of from our Heavenly Father and Savior felt so far away.

I started reading the Book of Mormon... and Nephi became my hero and a friend. I realized that he suffered the same things that Lamen and Lemual suffered but it was his choices and actions that led him to be faithful and to believe in God.

I had a choice placed before me, I could be like Nephi or I could be like his brothers. I could choose to have faith like Joseph Smith or I could turn away.

I could choose to have faith like so many faithful and amazing women that had suffered the same heart wrenching things I had faced... or I could turn away and let my doubts creep in.

I am so glad I stuck it out and I choose to do what this song says. I slowly found little flickers of light and hope, and I felt Gods love again.

I know there is a loving Heavenly Father and a Savior that has paid the price for me to return back to live with them.

I know that Joseph Smith was a true prophet of God and he restored his church upon the face of the earth.

I know that we can be with our families forever!!

The Book of Mormon is another testament of Jesus Christ and I love to read and learn from it!! I know it is true. It has blessed my life in so many ways.

Creepy Doll Halloween Makeup Look

I so wish I would have filmed when my baby saw me... poor thing.

I thought I was being pretty clever with this makeup look but I know it's really not going to appeal to a large group of you.

Wednesday Aadams Easy Halloween makeup

Day 11- Wednesday Aadams- I get told that I look like Christina Ricci often so I knew I had to do this look! 

This might be one of my favorite makeup looks I've done so far... wait did I say that yesterday? :)

Easy Rainbow Unicorn Makeup

 This one was a lot of fun!!! Easy rainbow unicorn makeup look. My friend called it a bedazzled Unicorn and that just make me happy.

I used a nyx eyeshadow pallet for all the bight colors, Jewels that I found on amazon, and Maskcara beauty products, as well as Red Aspen lashes.

Easy Mermaid Makeup

This makeup look turned out alot differnt than I had envisioned it to go but I don't hate it.

And I think you get the idea by watching the video. :)

I wanted to try doing non traditional colors, instead of the blues and purples you usually see when others do a mermaid look.

Easy Leopard Halloween makeup look

This look was really easy to pull together and would make for a great last minute Halloween costume.

I was told this is a Leopard makeup look, Cheetahs have spots like a dalmatian with out the darker rings around them. :)

I created this look using Maskcara beauty products and a few others I had on hand.

I also added some Red Aspen lashes for the full cat eye effect.

I am Jessica or Jess

I have the opportunity to be a wife to an awesome hard working husband (11 years baby), second a stay at home mom to the 2 coolest kids in town, and 3rd I get to be a hairstylist and makeup artist... It's seriously the best life!!

First off, Thank you so much for being here and becoming part of the Flicker tribe. I love connecting with new people and making new friends from around the world.

I am a cosmetologist (for the past 10 years) and makeup artist for the past (5 years). I love what I do!

I became a Maskcara Beauty Artist January 2018 and have loved it!! Not only do I love the products but I have made some of the best friends along the way.

I am so honored that women allow me in to their lives. It seriously is the coolest job ever!!

 I get that it can be very vulnerable to show me your face with out makeup on and all your imperfections... but let me tell you a secret, I don't really see them, I can look past that and see all the beauty that each individual has. And another thing, EVERYONE has imperfections and things they don't like, EVERYONE!
